The STRIDE Community Network is the Community Empowerment Network for South
Tyneside and ensures that local residents, community groups and voluntary organisations from across the Borough have a strong and influential voice at Transformation, South Tyneside’s Local Strategic Partnership (LSP).
We do this by providing people with opportunities to get involved through our Area and Thematic Forums, consultation events, mailings and our quarterly magazine, network.
If you want to get your voice heard, get in touch soon - it won’t cost you a penny.
The Community Network's Three Broad Aims:
- To strengthen community and voluntary organisations in their role in
social and economic renewal - To provide a network of community and voluntary organisations through area
and themed forums - To influence and take part in decisions that will develop the local economy
Hundreds of local groups take part in the STRIDE Community Network as members of
five geographical forums and one thematic forum which work to share concerns, ideas and solutions for the borough's future. Local groups all over South Tyneside are helping to revitalise our borough by taking action themselves - identifying what our communities need, finding solutions and finding ways to put them into action.
With the right support we believe that local communities can make a difference
and help to revitalise South Tyneside. STRIDE employs professional staff to provide that support. Any community or voluntary group based in South Tyneside can join the STRIDE
Community Network for free.
